Abstract:
Ti-Al一Sn一Zr-Mo一Nb-}-Si series high temperature titanium alloy have continued to attract so muchattention from aerospace applications because of its low density,high strength,high stiffness and good oxidation re-sistance. In this paper,the ingot of Ti-Al一Sn-Zr-Mo一Nb-}-Si series high temperature titanium alloy was preparedby induction skull melting ( ISM)in a water cooler copper crucible. The pancake was obtained by hot forging. Microstructures and mechanical properties of the as-forged alloy were also systemically discussed. The results showedthat the as-forged alloy is near-cx alloy with a basketweave microstructure. From room temperature to 7000C,the asforged alloy showed excellent mechanical properties. The tensile strength and elongation of the as-forged alloy stillcan reach nearly SSOMPa and 15%at 700 0C,respectively.
