Abstract:
Comparing with ordinary cutting,Cutting force and cuttingtemperature of heavy cutting is higherand tool failure has a great impact on the machining efficiency and quality. In this paper, the research of optimization design and analysis of efficient layer cutting milling cutter is carried out on typical parts for water chamber headof heavy cutting. Firstly,the article compared and analyzed the process ability between layer cutting cutter and facemilling cutter through machining experiment. Then,layer cutting cutter fitted for water chamber head is designedfrom milling cutter ladder, cutter geometry angle and the unequal tooth pitch and so on. Tool cutting edge anglewas optimized and the impact on tooth pitch to cutter natural frequency was analyzed by the finite element simulation. Finally,we have an emulation about machining performance of layer cutting cutter. Above all,the researchprovides a reference for tool design and theoretical analysis to improve the efficiency of the processing of heads water
